Kilifi's mangrove mama's restoring Gastonia beach.
Along the coast of Kilifi county in Kenya, LEAF are planting trees to restore mangrove forests. The project involves planting over 100,000 mangrove seedlings, restoring 100 ha of forest. This group of women care for the seedlings, prepare them for community planting days and monitor them to ensure survival. Not only is this helping to restore the degraded landscape but it provides essential income for these women and their families.
